FCC (ADAMS) LLC Plant Expanding with $7.5 Million Investment

FCC (ADAMS) LLC PLANT EXPANDING WITH $7.5 MILLION INVESTMENT

BERNE, IN --- MAY 27, 2010:

FCC (Adams) LLC, an automotive supply company, along with Adams County Economic Development officials asked Berne City Council to prepare the way for a new tax abatement. Larry Macklin, ACEDC executive director, and Tim Baker, legal council for ACEDC & FCC, explained the process of creating a 10-year tax abatement or “tax phase-in” as Macklin prefers to call it.

Located at 936 E. Parr Road in Berne, FCC plans to invest $7.5 million in an expansion project that will add 35,000 square feet and close to $5 million in new equipment. Elizabeth Daniels, administrations manager for FCC, stated the plant currently employs 125 at this time and plans to increase that number to 150 by 2011.

The expansion is a result of a contract with Ford to supply transmissions for the new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty. Expected volume will be around 200,000 units per year.

Berne City Council approved a resolution to establish an Economic Revitalization area that will allow the abatement process to proceed. The next step is a public hearing at the June 14 City Council meeting. The Berne Redevelopment Commission will also be presented with the proposal since FCC is in a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district.
